Fertilizing
We recommend core aerating your lawn at least once per year in our area. We have many customers who have their lawns aerated spring and fall. The benefits of loosening the soil so that air and water may filtrate into your turf's root system cannot be achieved any other way.
Over Seeding
SEEDING is usually done in conjunction with aeration. It’s a separate process that is used to thicken an already established lawn. We can apply the best seed to improve your turf at the exact recommended rate for germination. Pricing from $15.00
Seed Starters / Fall Fertilizers
STARTER FERTILIZER is very important when over seeding. Young grass plants require more nutrients in the soil because they don't have a large root structure for up-taking the nutrients. A 1-2-1 ratio fertilizer is recommended because phosphorus is needed for promoting root growth. The nitrogen will help thicken the foliage quickly and the potassium will improve the plants stress tolerance. We also recommend a second application about a month later to encourage a healthy thick turf that will withstand drought, disease and pest damage.

The main goal of fertilizing in the Fall is to promote a healthy and strong root structure. During the growing season most of the nutrients goes toward leaf growth. Fertilizing after leaf growth has slowed down, forces the nutrients to promote a root growth instead of leaf growth. Root growth is the key to a healthy turf that can withstand grub and drought damage.
How Much Seed Do You Need?
Establishment of Tall Fescue Seed Blend
New lawns: 6-8 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft.
Overseeding existing lawns: 3-5 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft.
Lawn renovations require about 4-7 pounds per 1000 sq. ft. and is applied heaviest in those areas that need more seed and lighter in those areas that are dense enough.
Sunlight Required: Full sun to medium shade - 4-8 hours of daily sun
Germination: Within 7-21 days
Mowing Height: 3" to 4"
What Is The Price For Aeration And Seed?
We charge *2 cents per square foot for aeration. And $3 per pound for seed applied during aeration. If seed is to be applied other then during aeration it costs $5 per thousand sq. ft. plus $4 a pound.
